Welcome, my name is Ryan Hall. I design videogames. Here on my site you'll find samples and information regarding many of the projects I have worked on. First allow me tell a little bit about myself. I am a 22 year old native of Gaithersburg, Maryland. I enjoy reading, travel, board and table top games, music and, of course, videogames. I enjoy most every videogame genre across all platforms especially role-playing, adventure, action, and tactics games. When I play games it is through the lens of a designer. I see the design choices made by the developers, recognize good and bad design, and give thought to the technical limitations presented in a title and the creative ways some developers can bypass them. Some of my favorite titles are also those that I feel are the best designed including the God of War series, the Half-Life series, the Final Fantasy Tactics series, and the Warcraft series.
In the summer of 2008 I graduated from the University of Baltimore (UB) with a B.S. in Simulation and Digital Entertainment. I have had the opportunity to work in the gaming industry with multiple companies in several different capacities from quality assurance to design. My time in the classroom and the workplace has challenged me to create great games as part of a team. As a result, I have developed a true passion for collaboration and see it as essential to the game development cycle. My work and ideas have consistently received high praise from my teachers and employers. I credit this to my creativity as a designer, my communication skills, as well as my ability to lead and bring out the best in my talented team members.
