In addition to my work in the industry, I have worked on several small-scope projects throughout my academic career. These are some of the most notable game projects that I have designed.

ZomBorgs is a game that myself and three of my classmates at UB created in 24 hours at the first ever Ohio Game Jam. The event took place at Ohio University. The game was developed using Adobe Flash and Photoshop. The game's goal is replenish the air of a post- apocalyptic planet by using the talents of zombie-cyborg woodland creatures. These creatures were created and controlled by the user in the framework of the real time strategy genre.
I was the driving creative force for this undertaking. I named the game, designed most of the gameplay elements, and had the answers to my group's creative questions. In addition, I created the character sprites used in the game in Photoshop. The 24 hour time limit of the game jam setting was a welcome challenge that my group and I rose to, completing our game on schedule.

Master Ching is the game that my team and I created for our final capstone course at the University of Baltimore. The four of us set out to make a game that we could handle from a technical perspective so that we could really explore the design. As the project manager and lead designer for the game this goal was particularly exciting to me.
My plan for Master Ching was fairly ambitious from a design perspective. We wanted to include humor, story, cutscenes and numerous other elements that would set our game apart from the other projects. By creating a tech scope and using Flash as our platform we made the sacrifices necessary to deliver on our lofty design goals.

Hydro Hijinks is a game that my Game Development class at Montgomery College put together. It was both a grade and a submission to a national Public Diplomacy in Games contest, where it placed second. The game was developed completely in 'Second Life'. The game's goal is to peacefully resolve a conflict between two nations fighting over rights to local water sources.
I was a lead designer for the project and also acted as a liaison between the programmers and artists. I named the game, wrote its entire dialog, and dictated to the programmers and artists how the games elements were to look and act. My humorous dialog was noted by the judges (including then EA CEO Bing Gordon) as being a big reason why our game received second place honors.
